This amendment is all about freedom. For example, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press. It does not allow congress from both promoting one religion over others. It also does not allow restricting individual's religious practices. Another guarantee is freedom of expression, restricting the press or the rights of an individual to speak freely.

This amendment is about letting solders temporarily stay is residents home with out permission when not in war and the people living in the home have to give them a bed to sleep on and food for them to eat. It is legal when they are in war so they must obey the rules.

Which means that if someone has to go to court for something, they don't have to go back to court or get arrested for the crime they did even if they admitted to the crime after the trial.
